We left Guatemala this morning and are now in sunny Honduras, and a short stroll from the famous Mayan ruins at Copan. Since our last group email many weeks ago we went to Tikal. Of all the ruined temples and cities we have seen so far this was by far our favourite. Tall, thick jungle as far as the eye could see with pyramids poking through the canopy. Monkeys, huge butterflies and colourful birds were all very much of the experience. Again, my photos don't this site anything close to justice.

Antigua was our next stop. The original capital city before it was moved to Guatemala City after a series of earthquakes destroyed many buildings. Antigua is now a World Heritage Site and receives a lot of tourism through its pretty, Colonial streets topped with sprays of bougainvilleas, and surrounded by volcanoes.
