Belize

Caye Caulker in Belize is a lovely place to relax for a few days. The local food is outstanding in Belize. Snorkelling with nurse sharks and rays was fun.

Guatemala

Tikal. Guatemala's ruins are the best we have seen anywhere in Central America or Mexico. Not to be missed.

Chichicastenango is one of the best markets I have ever been to. Other Guatemalan markets are also amazing!

Xela (Quetzaltenango) is the best place we have seen to study Spanish. Celas Maya is an excellent school.

Honduras

Copan Ruins has amazing carvings. Don't bother paying for the tunnels. The museum is very good.

Roatan has some of the best diving in the World. It is also cheap to dive and get certified.

Nicaragua

Granada is a superb colonial city. Get there before it becomes even more overrun with foreigners.

Costa Rica

All the wildlife parks we went to are good. Monteverde and Manuel Antonio, despite being very popular and easy to get to are still excellent.

San Jose. Central America's most liveable capital city.

Panama

The Panama Canal's locks and Miraflores museum. Fascinating.
